1/23/2024 0 Comments Diy laundry stripping![]() ![]() In the case of laundry, specifically with the soak cycle conducted inside the washer overnight, we use extra soap to combat the funk to which you're referring. If you get at least a few bubbles, then you're at least close enough that it can now go in the sink and be washed like all other dishes. If you give it fresh water and more Dawn, literally a larger-rinse-repeat, you should get the rest just fine. If you can't make any bubbles at all, really none, you didn't use enough soap. Once you've gotten as much grease as you think can be gotten, try and make some suds/soap bubbles in the pan using the dirty grease water it already has. Use your hands so you can really feel the grease coming off. Work the Dawn into the grease gently by hand, and you'll notice it comes off better if you use even more Dawn. Give it only a handful of water, and at least a tablespoon of Dawn detergent to start. Next time you cook something greasy, wash the cooking pan/pot/whatever separately. It's the same notion as using enough dish soap to maintain heavy sudsing, as opposed to not enough soap which can be discerned by lack of sudsing. Stripping my laundry has made such a difference in the way that my towels and sheets feel now and you can bet that I will be doing this every 6 to 12 months to keep my laundry fresh and clean. We love all things cleaning. I tried the method out on a few clean towels first and I was so grossed out that I proceeded to strip the rest of my towels, kitchen cloths and bed sheets. “shocked” is what I was when I saw what was left over in the tub. I was skeptical after seeing some other tutorials and thought “this can’t be real” My laundry comes out fresh and clean, how much dirt can be left behind after its been through the wash? This process will release any embedded dirt and gunk that a regular wash just can’t get out. The idea behind laundry stripping is that you are to soak your desired laundry in a combination of cleaning ingredients for several hours. For me personally I had only ever heard of it being used for cloth diapers, and was curious to find out what it could do for my everyday laundry. ![]() ![]() Like many others, I am sure you have seen or heard of the term “ laundry stripping”. ![]()
